Contradictions in the Bible - Kent Hovind thumbnail

The Bible..  God’s word.

Psalm 12:6-7   The words of the lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.  Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever.  (King James Bible)

Psalm 12:6-7  And the words of the Lord are flawless,     like silver purified in a crucible,     like gold[c] refined seven times. You, Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked, (New International Version)

Hey everyone.  I just wanted to show you how different versions of the Bible do matter.  In Psalm 12:6-7 – God Promises to Preserve His Words for us.  Which I think is awesome.  Watching the clip about the King James Bible and when you see how they preserved God’s Word so carefully – you can see God’s hand in it.

But then different versions started coming out and made little changes.  You can see in the second example how the New International version changed from Preserving God’s Word to protecting us?  It doesn’t even make sense in the context of the Psalm.

So the different versions do matter.

But the most important is to start reading God’s word.  My family and I started reading the only Bible I had which was the Catholic Bible.  And it was crazy how far off that Bible was.  The book of Daniel had two extra chapters and had Daniel going to the Lions den…  TWICE.  And then it added this mother nature chant right in the middle of the three men in the fiery furnace.

Needless to say, my very little Sunday School taught me that Daniel only went to the Lions’ Den once.  So we were on the search for a Bible and were quickly led to the King James/New King James Bible.

So I think if your intention is to truly get close to the Lord, He will be faithful and He will move you where you need to be.

Now our family all has New King James Bibles and we are trying to read the Bible in a year.  Which we all need to do. Read the whole Bible every single year.  That’s what our founding Fathers did..  No wonder they were such Godly men.

You need to stay connected to the Vine – who is Jesus.  And we learn that Jesus was is the Word made flesh.  So stay connected to the Word of God…  not to your church, not to your beliefs, not to your elder, pastor, minister, preacher, priest etc.. But only to the Word of God.
